Wasatch Ballet's Annual June ConcertThis year, we are thrilled to bring back one of Wasatch Ballet’s most beloved story ballets, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tomas, a magical production featuring ballet, acro, tap, and jazz.
A favorite among many WBC families, this original work was created by Allison T. Wolsey and Stephanie Saul, with all choreography crafted by WBC’s own teachers alongside guest choreographers. Loosely inspired by the novel The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, this heartfelt story follows an unforgettable journey of love, loss, and transformation. First produced in 2013 and again in 2018, this cherished ballet returns once more, inviting a new generation of dancers and audiences to experience its magic. Don’t miss this extraordinary milestone with a performance filled with imagination, artistry, and joy! |
Since its inception in 2000, Wasatch Ballet has provided students with an exciting performance experience in front of family and friends that they anticipate with nervous excitement all year. A big part of the dance training process includes learning through performance. This experience helps build self-esteem, self-assurance, and contributes to a sense of confidence. Although performance opportunities can help prepare some students for a possible career in dance, they also contribute to children’s success in non-dance activities. On-stage experience can result in better school presentations, improved social skills, and strong interview skills for future college or job opportunities. The rehearsal process is a tremendous learning experience as well. It helps the children develop retention skills, and by working with their classmates on a group performance, they learn the positive aspects of working as a team to create the best end result. Lastly, the most important benefit of the recital is the fun experience and the opportunity to make memories and friendships which will last a lifetime!
WBC offers students a professionally directed performance that allows dancers to demonstrate the result of a year’s hard work, dedication, and progress. Our June Concert is a unique experience because each year our studio presents an enjoyable, original Story Ballet. The students perform one to two numbers per class and are often involved in other scenes, helping the storyline along.
