Wasatch Ballet is known for our fabulous and fun June Concerts! Dancing on stage is one of the most fun aspects of dance. We realize that 2020 has proven to be the most bizarre and unimaginable year any of us have witnessed. We are hoping we will be able to perform in June, but realize nobody knows for certain what is to come. Because of that, we have revised and reduced our plans for the June concert. We want everyone to be able to participate, but know that we are all uncertain of what to expect financially. We have come up with a plan that will reduce the price of the concert, as well as the financial risk.
Participation Form & Remaining Concert Fees Due 4/15 All students must fill out a NEW Participation Form!!
If we are unable to hold the concert this summer, we will apply the Concert Fee to your account or refund you the money.
In order to reduce the Concert Fees, we need to minimize rental time at the Covey so we will do the following:
Perform the concert fewer times. We are hoping to do two or three performances, but this will depend on the number of participants. We will let you know as soon as possible.
Reduce the length of the show. Although we may add more dances when we are able to hold class at the studio, we are currently reducing the number of dances each class will participate in. For now, all Children’s classes will work toward one dance. If things go well with the Online classes, we will start on another one. Levels which have a Performing Company (Basics 3 and higher) will not work on choreography within their ballet class. Jazz and Contemporary classes will perform one dance. Companies will perform as many as they are able to pull together. In addition, we might add some of the company pieces which never made it to the stage due to Dare to Dream’s cancellation.
Minimize rehearsal time at the theater. With fewer dances and no scenery changes, we will be able to do our rehearsals quicker, but still be prepared for dancers to shine and have fun!
We really wanted our 20th Anniversary June Concert to be momentous. Well, it looks like it will be because, alas, this will be our first June Concert that won’t be a story ballet. Because of our limited time, we won't be able to hold enough combined rehearsals necessary to put a story together. Plus, without costumes, it just wouldn’t be as cool. Instead, it will be similar to our amazing Company Concerts… more of a recital format. It will still provide our dancers with the opportunity to perform on stage, smile, shine, show how much they progressed this year, and have fun!
Reduce Costume Prices
Although we all love the beauty of costumes on stage, we realize there is a chance that we won’t be able to perform this summer. Therefore, we have decided that in lieu of costumes, we will dress our dancers more simply. The priority is to dance on stage, costumes are secondary. Instead, each class will purchase matching quality leos, skirts, dance shorts, and/or leggings. These are essential dance wear which the students can wear to class in the future.
As of now, we can order these items. If the situation becomes worse and we are unable to order them, we will apply the amounts to your account or provide a refund.
