Dance for Life: Contemporary Ensemble - September 13
We’re hitting the ground running this season with a dynamic contemporary ensemble work choreographed by Kaya Wolsey featuring the combined Pre-Pro 1 & 2 Companies — created specifically for Dance for Life on September 13! This will be an intensive and rewarding process that challenges dancers to grow quickly and perform with power and artistry. We’ll kick off the season with a Choreography Boot Camp where dancers will learn the bulk of the work. All rehearsals for this piece are mandatory.

A Letter from the company director

Dear Dancers and Families,

I’m so excited to welcome you to the 2025–2026 season of WBC’s Performing Companies! Wasatch Ballet has been my second home — quite literally — for the past 26 years. I grew up in the studio my mom built, and over the years I’ve been a dancer, a teacher, and a proud supporter of my WBC family. Though I’ve left many times to pursue my professional career, I’ve always found my way back to my roots.

After spending the last six years dancing and choreographing professionally — including co-founding a company in Aspen — I’ve returned home. Not just to Utah, but to the place that shaped me. I’m now thrilled to step into this next chapter: sharing what I’ve learned and pouring it into the next generation of dancers. Some of you I’ve known for years, and others I’ve only seen in passing — but I’m genuinely looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you. This year will be full of exciting opportunities, hard work, and tremendous growth.

A few exciting things to note: We’re expanding our contemporary programming for Pre-Pro 1 & 2, including a collaborative performance with SALT Contemporary Dance — a company that played a meaningful role in my own career. We’ll also present a full section of La Bayadère in our Company Show at the Covey Center, alongside a powerful lineup of contemporary and contemporary ballet repertory.

This season is about rising — together. I believe deeply in the potential of each dancer in this company, and I feel incredibly honored to be a part of your journey. Let’s make it a season to remember.

With so much excitement,
Kaya Wolsey

Radio Silence with SALT Contemporary Dance - January
We’re thrilled to announce a very special opportunity for our Pre-Pro 1 & 2 Company dancers — a chance to perform alongside SALT Contemporary Dance during their fall concert, Radio Silence!
This is a rare and exciting collaboration that allows our dancers to:
  • Rehearse and perform professionally-choreographed work from SALT’s stunning repertoire
  • Work directly with SALT company dancers in the WBC studio
  • Take the stage with a professional company in a fully produced concert

All Pre-Pro 1 & 2 Company dancers are expected to take part in this incredible opportunity as a core part of their company experience. The cost is already included in your company fee, which covers all rehearsals, costumes (provided and rented from SALT), and performance expenses. This is a truly unique and professional experience that will push you, inspire you, and elevate your artistry. We can’t wait to see you shine on stage with SALT! More information to come.

Participation in this performance is a required part of Pre-Pro 1 & 2 Company experience. This is a fast-paced process, but the payoff is huge — a bold, standout piece that will kick off our season and return later as a highlight of our company concert!
